Matrimonial and Family Law

Adam has represented clients in contested and uncontested divorce proceedings, the negotiation and drafting of separation agreements, pre and post-nuptial agreements and represents clients in divorce and family related mediation proceedings. He also routinely appears in Family Court and has represented clients in a variety of matters including support proceedings, parental access and custody proceedings, relocation proceedings, paternity proceedings and domestic violence proceedings. Adam has represented clients seeking to amend, modify or enforce both domestic and foreign divorce judgments. To this end, Adam has represented and counseled clients residing in England, Singapore, India, France and Spain and advises clients if, and on what basis, conflicts of laws between countries may exist. Adam has represented and defended clients in civil contempt cases relating to divorce judgments and has advised clients in connection with Federal Kidnapping statutes. Adam has also represented gay and lesbian clients in both drafting and litigating domestic partnership agreements.

In 2001, Adam was honored for his pro bono matrimonial work by the Legal Aid Society, receiving a Pro Bono Publico Award for his “meticulousness, excellence, and other compassion in handling a complex, contested matrimonial dispute involving severe domestic violence and other issues.”

Adam is a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
